SOLD.......1977 BMW R100RS Light Blue, #6180522 Fresh 10K Service

This sporty Classic 1977 BMW R100RS is fully serviced and ready to ride. We have done extensive deep service. First a Factory Recommended 10K Major Service was done (see bottom for details). The front wheel bearings were replaced. Additionally, we rebuilt the forks, replaced the steering neck bearings, overhauled the carburetors, and rebuilt the front Master Cylinder.

The fuel tank had previously been (poorly) lined with Kreem; we removed that old liner and did a proper acid etch and relining with POR15. We installed new Original braided cloth covered fuel lines. The instruments were serviced by our in house technician. A new battery was installed.

The 40mm chrome exhaust headers and the OEM replica mufflers are clean and bright and in Very Good condition. The bike has been fitted with a pair of Lester Mag Wheels. The Metzeller ME33 / ME55 tires are in Very Good condition, and provide exceptional grip when cornering. The front dual disc brakes have braided Stainless Steel brake lines. The seat cover is very good except for a very narrow 1.5” long blemish on the left side near the middle. A Factory optional Luggage Rack / Grab Rail has been installed. There is a tool tray, but no tool kit. The title matches the frame and engine numbers.

The whole bike was repainted some time in the past, and it was not a BMW quality job. The paint is solid (not flaking / pealing / cracking), but there are several spots where it has come off due to small areas of surface preparation failure. A different shade of light blue can be seen in those areas. The odometer says 5,588, but we know that’s not correct. It has probably been replaced, not turned over. Our best guess, based on the normal wear indicators and by how strong it runs, would be around 70,000 miles. The motor runs VERY strong!

This bike would make an excellent and stylish daily commuter or a weekend tourer. The Factory RS fairing was the first wind tunnel designed full fairing installed stock on a production bike. It provides a very efficient wind break for your entire body. It has a clock and volt meter in the dash. The 1000cc big valve motor has plenty of power for high speed two up riding or for pushing it hard through the twisty two lane back roads. All in all, this is a very nice Classic bike that is ready to go for decades of dependable sport / touring riding!

We would be happy to provide you with a quote for enclosed, insured, to-your-door delivery by a carrier we have a good history with.
