6172801 1983 BMW R80RT, Dark Blue. 49,600 Mi. Koni, Reynolds, Krauser. Fresh 10K SDervice plus MUCH More!
This 1983 BMW R80RT is fully serviced and set up for Touring, or it would make an excellent daily commuter. The bike has 49,600 Miles. We just finished a BMW Factory 10K Major Service. We installed new original Continental braided cloth covered fuel lines and a pair of inline fuel filters. We mounted & balanced a pair of NEW Dunlop tires. We installed new rubber boots between the fork tubes and the fairing. We cleaned the carburetors and chemically cleaned and flushed the fuel tank. We also serviced the front forks, and installed new steering neck bearings. Finally, a new sealed battery was installed.
After the service work, we gave it an extended test ride / shakedown to insure everything works perfectly, and will continue to do so. The motor starts easily, warms up quickly, and runs very smoothly! Overall a nice, clean, adult ridden, well cared for BMW.
This bike is equipped with a pair of now very hard to find Koni rear shocks. There is a Brown type extended sidestand. There is a Reynolds Tour Rest / Rack passenger back rest. This BMW is also equipped with a pair of BMW Touring Cases (saddlebags) on black BMW brand mounts. The left lockable fairing pocket lid is raised for slightly more storage capacity.
The paint is solid, with several small areas of touch-up. The fairing lowers have the typical tiny nicks down low from small gravel chips getting kicked up. The chrome OE exhaust is solid, and a pair of Rare Luftmeister Chrome Header Guards have been installed on the headers. The 20” National Cycle windshield is in good condition (stock is 18”). The front fender has a rubber mud flap, the rear fender has an extended plastic deflector at the rear edge. The bike has a Tool Tray, but it does not have a Tool kit. The Title is clear.
