SOLD 8/20 --- 6207877 – 1984 BMW R80ST, GREY. ALPHA IGNITION, WORKS SHOCK. BILLETT TOP CLAMP, GREY. VG CONDITION!
This BMW R80ST is one of our owner’s personal BMWs. It is very clean, and extremely well cared for, with 64,949 miles.
It is equipped with an ALPHA Ignition System from Motorrad Electric. The front fork has been improved with a billet Top Clamp. The front brake disc is an EBC floating disc, with new brake pads and a braided Stainless Steel front brake line. The front Master Cylinder was showing signs of seeping, so a new one was installed.
The bike received a Major 10K Service less than 500 miles ago, so we just did a motor tune with oil and filter to prepare it for sale.
The R80ST comes equipped with chrome 2-piece engine Guards, with a sidestand attached to the left guard. A Works Suspension rear monoshock has been installed. A set of BMW Heated Hand Grips make for much more comfortable hands on those chilly mornings / evenings.
The BMW R80ST is a limited edition Street version of the Very popular Off-Road / Bad Road R80GS & R100GS. It has a 19” front wheel, instead of a 21” front. The rear suspension has 3” less travel, making the R80ST much easier to handle for riders without a 36” inseam. With the Monoshock rear suspension and shorter wheelbase than the main model line, this bike is EXTREMELY nimble, yet VERY stable at freeway speeds. We feel it’s the most fun to ride of all the BMW Airheads ever made.
The chrome is shiny, the exhaust is solid, and Both Metzeller Tires are in very good condition. The paint is solid and still predominately shinny; there are some small touch-ups, mostly on the top of the front fender. There is a tool tray, and an Owner’s Manual, but no Tool Kit.
