SOLD....1975 BMW R90/6, Red, Vetter, Corbin. Rebuilt Top + Much more!

This sharp and eye catching Vintage BMW has been extensively reconditioned from end to end, and has had a full Factory 10 K Service. It is ready to ride; and with all the reconditioning work already done, still has decades of riding pleasure in it.

The forks were rebuilt, and the steering bearings were replaced. The carburetors were rebuilt. We honed and re-ringed the cylinders. We inspected the heads, and decided to replace them with a pair from the same year that only had a few thousand miles on them since a rebuild (we found the valves, guides, and seats are in excellent condition). Then we re-assembled and resealed the top end. The front engine cover crankshaft seal was replaced. The transmission was removed and carefully bench tested, and found to be Very Good. The Clutch was removed and inspected; all components were found to be Very Good. The engine rear main seal and oil pump O'ring were replaced. The clutch splines were lubed, and everything reassembled. The front pads and rear shoes are in Good condition. The Final Drive drive splines are in Very Good condition.

The bike is equipped with the larger 22 Liter fuel tank, a Vetter touring fairing, and a Corbin Dual Canyon seat. There is a original tool tray, but no tool kit. The keys have 2 spares, and all fit ignition, steering lock, and seat lock. The exhaust headers and mufflers are clean and bright and in Very Good Condition; except for a small stain on the right muffler just behind the rider peg. The aluminum castings are all bright, the original /6 BMW rear shocks are in Very Good condition and Very clean and bright. The original /6 BMW mirrors are in fair condition, with some pitting on the stems.

The bike has been repainted a number of years in the past. There is a normal amount of very small chips and very light scratches that can be found upon very close examination, but the paint is solid and bright and shinny and should remain attractive for years.

We installed new original /6 BMW round rider peg rubbers, and original Continental braided cloth covered fuel lines. We cleaned and serviced the instruments. The shop is putting the necessary 200 break in miles on the bike, so it will be ready for the next owner without needing to be brought back for recommended 200-mile readjustments.

During our 200 mile test ride we decided that the front brake was performing poorly; so we installed fresh brake pads (old ones were hard), and a braided stainless steel front brake line. Now the brakes work like they're supposed to! We do not have new photos yet, so you will not see the brake line in the posted photos.

The bike attracts the eye with the bright red paint, is pleasing to the ear for it's quiet running and slight rumble to the exhaust, and it is a real joy to ride with great throttle response and smooth running. With the Vetter, it will be comfortable to ride well into the Fall. With the Corbin seat it will be perfect for comfortably taking someone special on a weekend ride down the back roads to see the colors, or down the highway for an event states away.
